Back to the airport, and home

The entire staff of the Maasi Mara Safari
The long, bumpy, rocky, pothole and washout-infested dirt road was just as bad going out as it was coming in.

The fun is still not over!  Back on the paved highway, we drive through a mountain pass.  And along the side of the road, there were: baboons!  Lots of them, just sitting there.  Like our friend from Hell's Gate last week, I suppose they are waiting food toss-outs from passing motorists.  At least none of them attempted to jump on the car.

After at least six rounds of airport security, ten thousand miles and 20 hours in a cramped economy-grade airplane seat, we finally make it back home to Houston.

In our last conversation with Sarah (neighbor of Emily), she said:  "Well you know you didn't nearly plan enough time to really see what all Kenya has to offer.  The NEXT time you come to Kenya, you need to plan at least three weeks.  On second thought, better make that four weeks. Actually, come to think of it, you really need six weeks … but if you want to REALLY see it all …"
